An overarching goal for DMES is that we will positively impact the lives of those involved with our school. We will spend this first year determining what we value and how we will measure it.
As with all schools, our primary mandate is to improve students’ academic achievement. As such, we will set both individual and whole-school goals that relate to achievement on standardized tests.
However, we view the possible outcomes of school more broadly, too, and we will want to set and measure goals that relate to other areas of their well-being. We want children, for instance, to feel safe, happy, and part of a community. We will work with both students and parents to find ways to measure our progress in these areas.
After our first year, this portion of our website will contain data that shows how we are progressing in the areas we identify and will also contain a link to our school report card.
