Mr. Gregory Harris

Hello! I'm Mr. Harris.  I am very excited about being a 5th grade Math & Science teacher at Mary H. Wright for the 2023-2024 school year.  I have been teaching for 32 years in several different schools.  I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and then came to Spartanburg to attend Wofford College.  After college, I worked at the SC School for the Deaf and Blind for 8 years.  In 1995, I earned my Master's degree from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC.  In 1998, I moved to Kenya, Africa, where I lived and taught in a school for the deaf for two and a half years with the U.S. Peace Corps.  When I returned to Spartanburg in 2001, I began working at EP Todd School.  I was at EP Todd for 18 years. This will be my fifth year teaching at MHW. My wife is from Kenya and we have two sons and one daughter. I enjoy outdoor activities, playing soccer, and reading.  I'm looking forward to another great year here at MHW!
