Ms. Sherale Smith

My name is L. Sherale Smith and I am a first grade teacher. I love first grade and all the fun we get to have while learning and exploring. 

I have a master's degree in Early Childhood Education that I earned at the University of the Southwest. I also earned a certificate in Reading Recovery and have been grateful to have this resource to apply to helping my friends to become better readers. 

I was born in Jamaica Queens, New York but was raised in the south. I love to visit the big city but also love the calmness of South Carolina. Besides my early educational experience, I transitioned and completed school right here in Spartanburg School District 7.

I have traveled abroad to two places outside of the United States so far and plan to travel to many more countries in the future. I love to explore different places and taste different foods. 

I have four children and two grandchildren. They are each unique in their own way, just like you! 

I am happy to get to spend this year growing and learning with each of you.
