credish@spart7.orgDr. Carlotta Redish serves the district as the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. She has years of vast experience building and leading equity and social emotional learning in the classroom. In the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), she facilitated and supported Professional Development on Culturally Relevant Pedagogy to ensure optimal learning opportunities for all students. She designed curriculum for and delivered training for classroom teachers, administrators, and curriculum coaches on district policies and instruction programs. Dr. Redish collaborated with fellow LAUSD Secondary Literacy Specialists in creating, writing, and developing social studies curriculum guides for grades 8, 11, and 12 with a primary focus on culturally relevant pedagogy. In the Atlanta Public School System, Dr. Redish was committee chairperson leading the formation and implementation of a Law and Government theme school, designed to be a school within a school, where she taught to address the needs of underprivileged and underserved students. Dr. Redish successfully completed the Certified Diversity Professional Certification Course at the Purdue Research Center, the Racial Equity Institute in Greensboro, N.C., and the Diversity Leaders Institute at Furman University. She has conducted professional development training sessions on Unconscious Bias, LBGTQ+, Equity for Special Needs Students, and other topics pertaining to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
