The 2023-2024 academic calendar for Spartanburg School District 7 has been approved. We hope this will help your family with planning for the coming year.

• Students will start the new school year on Monday, August 14, 2023.
• The last day of school will be Thursday, May 23, 2024. 

In accordance with state law, the calendar includes 180 scheduled instructional days and ten professional development/teacher workdays. District 7 was granted a waiver from the South Carolina Legislature, along with all other Spartanburg County school districts, to hold our first day of school prior to the third Monday in August. This waiver requires our 2023-2024 calendar to be referred to as a “modified year-round school calendar” and to list the summer learning offerings that have always been available to students in June and July, should they need extra supports. Students are not attending school for 12 months of the year, and they will still have a summer break as usual. This small shift provided more balance between the two semesters and aligns with our neighboring districts.
