D7 News & COVID-19 Resources
Announcement from the Principal
Thank you for your continued efforts to help us mitigate the spread of COVID-19. There is a concern regarding the high numbers of COVID cases in our community, and although we are not seeing an increase in our schools, it is important more than ever to follow the protocols that are set in place by our district for our students so that we won’t experience any issues.
As a reminder, if your child is asked to quarantine, they are not allowed to attend a school or any function on school grounds (including athletic events). According to CDC guidelines, they should stay at home. Also, please do not send your child to school when they are sick. This is not the time to try to push through.
If your family becomes affected by COVID, we ask that you call the school and speak with our nurse, Cindy Quillen at 864-596-8434.
I know this is a very difficult time for families, however, we need to stay vigilant so that we can keep students and staff as safe as possible. We are grateful for your cooperation and support.
100th Day Celebration
On Wednesday, January 27th our students will be 100 days smarter because of your dedication, perseverance, and passion. To celebrate the 100th day of school we would like to invite you to participate in one of the following ways:
1. Dress like a 100-year-old ...or....
2. Wear a homemade or purchased 100th day of school t -shirt
A prize will be given to the most creative student costume!
Time to Order Your Yearbook!
It's time to reserve your yearbook for the 2020-2021 school year. Yearbooks are $20 for a soft cover and $25 for a hardcover and can be paid with cash in the media center or online at ybpay.lifetouch.com. Yearbook code 14287321 . Remember, yearbooks must be pre-ordered before Spring Break. Only a very limited number will be available after that time.
Wi-Fi and Tech Support
We have provided guidance on several common technical support issues on our website here. If you are unable to resolve technical difficulties on your own, the first step is to let your teacher know. Teachers are able to address many technical support questions. If your teacher is unable to resolve the problem, he/she will connect you with a member of District 7’s technology support team for additional guidance.
If you are unable to reach your teacher, please contact your school’s Support Technician. A list of the technicians for each school is available here.
School Supply list 2020-2021
Students should come prepared to school with supplies EVERY DAY ready to learn. The 3-ring binder is an essential part of our AVID method of organization and necessary for student success at Carver.
Certain electives may require additional supplies.
School Choice Window Open
Expanded choice offers parents and students in District 7 the opportunity to request permission to attend a school other than their residentially assigned school. The window to request a different school is now open.
School choice applications will be accepted now through Feb. 29. Parents will be notified May 1 about the status of their application.
District schools that are at capacity will not be open to school choice, and while we cannot guarantee every request will be fulfilled, every application is considered. If you have questions, contact Dr. Terry Pruitt.
